South India Cycle Tour from Bangalore to Kochi (Cochin) Brief Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Bangalore
Welcome to Bangalore and the start of your South India cycle tour! Transfer to the outskirts of Bangalore to Our Native Village Eco-Resort.
Day 2: Bangalore – Mysore (Drive 100 Kms / Cycling 40 Kms)
Countryside riding. Visit the Folklore Museum and an Indian vineyard and winery for lunch and tastings. Drive to Mysore.
Day 3: Mysore (No Cycling)
Begin the day with a relaxing yoga session before a day of sightseeing including Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, Mysore Palace and Devaraj market.
Day 4: Mysore – Mudumali Wildlife Tiger Reserve (Drive 80 Kms/Cycling 30 Kms)
After breakfast we drive towards Mudumali. Enjoy a ride within the lush buffer zone between Bandipur National Park and Mudumali National Park.
Day 5: Mudumalai – Wayanad (Drive 35 Kms/Cycling 35 Kms)
Cycle to a tea estate and tour the plantation and factory before embarking on a breathtaking ride through the misty tea estates.
Day 6: Wayanad – Safari (No Cycling)
Early morning jeep safari at Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary and if we are lucky we will see a tiger and leopard. Afternoon to relax at our accommodation.
Day 7: Wayanad – Nilambur (Drive 46 Kms / Cycling 30 Kms)
Beautiful downhill ride to Nilambur a beautiful area of teak forests. This evening we will enjoy a performance of Mohiniattam, a classical dance form of Kerala.
Day 8: Nilambur (Cycling 25 Kms)
Cycle to the Chaliyar River to do a bit of fishing. After lunch visit Aruvacode, known as the land of potters and home to Kumbham – contemporary terracotta products that are functional and beautiful.
Day 9: Nilambur – Kochi (Cochin) (Drive 140 Kms Cycling 10 Kms)
Drive to Fort Kochi with a stop at St George Church, one of the oldest in India. We will explore the streets and historical sites of Fort Kochi by bike.
Day 10: Kochi – Kumarakom (Drive 30 Kms Cycling 25 Kms)
More time to explore Fort Kochi this morning on our bikes. After lunch, we drive to Kumarakom in the backwaters and our lodge for the night.
Day 11: Kumarakom – Alleppey (Cycling 40 Kms)
Enjoy a beautiful coastal ride to Alleppey where we will board our houseboat and relax as we explore the massive Lake Vembanad and the labyrinth of backwater canals.
Day 12: Alleppey – Cochin (Drive 110 Kms / Fly Out)
After breakfast, we drive to the Cochin International Airport to board your flight back home.
